“I will be there, just not on your watch”: Lamar Jackson destroys Chris Simms who criticized the QB for not attending voluntary OTAs
Lamar Jackson and Chris Simms
Lamar Demeatrice Jackson Jr. is a name to reckon with in the world of the NFL. The star quarterback who features for the Baltimore Ravens played college football at Louisville, where he mesmerized one and all with his astounding performances.
In fact, he won the Heisman Trophy during his sophomore year and as a result, was roped in by the Baltimore Ravens back in 2018. As they say, fortune favors the brave, in his rookie season itself, Lamar got a chance to become his team’s starting QB after an injury to Joe Flacco.
“Let Lamar be Lamar”: Lamar Jackson on being compared with Tom Brady
As a matter of fact, Lamar guided his team to a Division title and at 21, became the youngest QB to start a playoff game. Undoubtedly, Lamar has become a major part of his team and the world knows how talented a QB he is. However, he hasn’t yet signed a contract extension, and now fans are getting a little anxious about Lamar not taking part in any of the organized team activities as well.
Recently, Ravens coach John Harbaugh was asked about the Lamar situation. In response, John refused to give anything away. “I’ll just let Lamar speak for himself on that. It’s for him to talk about,” Harbaugh said, as reported by ESPN’s Jamison Hensley.
Talking about the same, Chris Simms also had a few things to say. He claimed that Lamar stated in the past that he wants to be the Tom Brady of his era but Tom didn’t miss a single OTA until he played in 4 Super Bowls. “Brady wouldn’t be missing OTAs in year four of his career. Brady didn’t miss an OTA until he had played in four Super Bowls,” he said.
Finally, Lamar responded to all that has been said about him. “Lamar wants to be Lamar Chris. This part of OTAs is Voluntary my Guy I will be there, just not on your watch it’s probably other QBs not attending Voluntary OTAs either but since it’s Lamar it’s a huge deal. Find something else to talk about,” he said.
