The NFL offseason has been wild. In just a few hours, the rosters of teams across the league will look significantly different. Amid all the seriousness, Lamar Jackson, the quarterback of the Baltimore Ravens, decided to have his fair share of fun.

When he found out that safety Geno Stone was leaving the Ravens and signing a two-year contract with the Cincinnati Bengals, he took a shot at a former player while poking fun at Stone.

You're Dead to us, You're Dead to me!
Lamar Jackson posted on X after Stone’s trade news broke out.

He posted a story on Instagram and called his aforementioned quote his “new quote.” Jackson was using Tiki Barber, the former New York Giants running back quotes, which he used to criticize Saquon Barkley after he signed a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.

You're dead to us, Saquon. Good luck, you're dead to me.
Tiki Barber used the exact phrase after the trade went down.

He accused the running back of being disloyal to the city of New York. Saquon came out with his statement, shutting down Barber for his statements and defending himself.

Never turned his back on his teammates and always had theirs.

Lamar Jackson made the comments about Stone in jest

While the Barber-Barkley beef was serious, Lamar Jackson’s comments on Geno Stone were made in pure jest. He shares a good relationship with the safety and wishes him the best for his future, but he took the opportunity to wish him luck in his own unique manner.

Geno Stone’s decision to make a move to the Cincinnati Bengals was made keeping in mind what was best for his career. It was unlikely that he was going to be offered a similar deal by the Baltimore Ravens, and in addition to this, the Bengals would give him more playing time and allow him to play a bigger role than he did in Baltimore.

Stone was a seventh-round pick by the Ravens in 2020. He has quickly emerged as one of the top players in his position.

The Cincinnati Bengals have struggled in the secondary position, especially after they lost Vonn Bell and Jessie Bates to free agency. There is no doubt that Stone will be thrust into a starting role almost immediately.
