“Legend” Twitter reacts as Patriot James White announces retirement from the NFL

James White was truly a legend of the game. The 3 time Super Bowl winner played for the Patriots before retiring from the NFL. Head coach Bill Belichick called him one of the best players he’s ever coached.
His great ability to catch passes in the outfield and his movement off the ball made him one of the most instrumental RBs of our time. White was one of those players who didn’t have a lot of numbers but his contribution always stood out. His best season was in 2018 with the Patriots when he had 87 interceptions with 751 receiving yards.
James White will end his illustrious career with 5,208 yards from scrimmage. He also has played 12 playoff games which made him one of the most lethal and reliable backfield receivers in the entire NFL.

James White is regarded as the unofficial MVP of Super Bowl LI, where he lead the Patriots to a win against the Atlanta Falcons with a comeback. He was a true leader who always led by example and will always be remembered as one of the best RBs for the Patriots.
With White retiring before the upcoming season, the Patriot’s backfield is thinned. Rookie Pierre Strong and RB Ty Montgomery will have to step in the shoes of the legendary RB.
James White had a hip injury that he couldn’t completely recover from. He was out for most games in 2021 because of the injury and it ultimately led to his retirement.
Twitter was saddened by this unfortunate news of White retiring and many people congratulated the RB for the ‘legend’ that he is.
