The Cleveland Browns started their season with a bang against the Cincinnati Bengals. A 24-3 demolition job on a very wet and windy afternoon. The weather was such that Browns QB Deshaun Watson did not have to do much as the Bengals just discombobulated. Watson did his job as he threw for 154 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
The Browns played their next game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and this game did not go as well as their previous one. Watson struggled throughout the game as he had three turnovers. The Browns eventually lost the game 26-22. Former NFL player and current analyst, LeSean McCoy, criticized the quarterback and believes that the Browns should want a refund on Watson after handing him one of the biggest contracts in NFL.
“They need a refund,” McCoy said on the Fox Sports show, Speak. “That’s simple: they need a refund. My thing is, with Deshaun Watson, we thought we’re going to get the old Deshaun Watson to come back. We gave him some grace period because he hasn’t played football some time, and he haven’t had a full camp. This year, he did.”
Watson has 389 passing yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. He has a completion percentage of only 55.1 and hasn’t looked like his old self through two games. He signed a five-year, $230 million deal with the Browns at the beginning of the 2022 season. All of his $230 million is fully guaranteed.
Watson is yet to perform at an elite level for the Browns and they will hope he does that as soon as possible. They will play their next game against the Tennessee Titans on September 24. Watson will hope to have a better outing against the Titans after a poor start to the season.

Deshaun Watson avoided ejection after pushing an official on Monday
The Cleveland Browns-Pittsburgh Steelers game got a little chippy towards the end. Browns QB Deshaun Watson was called for a personal foul as he grabbed the facemask of Steelers linebacker Kwon Alexander. Watson pushed Alexander out of bounds and as tempers started to flare, one of the officials stepped in to calm things down.
Watson appeared to push the official out of the way. Any contact on an official is an automatic ejection, but Watson stayed in the game to play the remainder of the second half. The Browns eventually lost the game 26-22.
The Browns have started the season 1-1 and Watson hasn’t played well. He will have to deliver some match winning performances as soon as possible. Browns will play their next game against the Tennessee Titans on next Sunday.
