“Love our coach” Kyle Shanahan receives praise for answering a tricky question

Kyle Shanahan

Kyle Shanahan is a young coach but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t know the ball. What he lacks in experience he makes up for it in his technical abilities. Son of the legendary coach Mike Shanahan, Kyle has some pretty big shoes to fill and he doesn’t shy away from the challenge.

In a recent press conference after training day 8, former Broncos WR Brandon Marshall had an interesting question for the coach. He asked the 49ers coach “When the game gets tight what’s your go-to” to which he casually replied, “I would give my player a two-way go and not just give him the outbreak route.”

The calm composure that Kyle Shanahan portrayed impressed many people including Brandon Marshall himself. He was applauded on Twitter for his reply and the fans were delighted that they have such a qualified coach.

Kyle was also asked about the recent brawls where the practice was halted for the second time, this led to the coach calling his team to huddle up. He wants his team to be physical, tough and irritating but draws the line at throwing punches which happened twice between Fred Warner and Brandon Aiyuk.

“I want everyone challenging each other,” Shanahan said Friday. “I don’t care how much crap each other talks; I don’t care how close they get to fighting. They can do whatever they want to get themselves to be as intense as they want and bring the best out of each other, which happens a lot that way. And it’s the same on the field.

Shanahan started his coaching career as an offensive coordinator for the Atalanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns, Washington Commanders and Houston Texans. This is his first job as a head coach and he’s doing a great job at it.

Shanahan is part of a new generation of coaches who make us believe that age and experience are not that important when handling an NFL team, and with the love and support he’s getting from his fans and players, Shanahan will be here for a long time.
