New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones is gaining attention after dropping an aggressive ‘F-BOMB’ during the game against Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football. Once the outburst started gaining a lot of attention, people started to speculate that Mac Jones is frustrated with the Patriots’ senior football advisor and offensive line coach Matt Patricia, but Jones has since dismissed this notion.

Jones also jumped on the WEEI radio show to talk more about the incident. The New England QB joined the hosts Merloni, Fauria, and Mego, where he went on to explain in detail about the incident. He told the hosts that football is an emotional sport and he likes to show his passion on the field. “A lot of that is just the leadership that comes from getting the guys to play and doing a good job of working together. And just trying to create longer drives and score more points,” said Jones.

Mac Jones was selected as the 15th overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft by the New England Patriots. He was the 5th and final QB picked in the first round of that draft. At the time, it seemed like a sensible pick, given that New England needed a quarterback and Jones was considered the prototypical Bill Belichick quarterback.

But after almost two full seasons, Jones still has not shown massive promise that he could be the signal collar of the New England Patriots offense for years to come.

After a decent rookie year, In which, he threw for 3,801 yards and 22 touchdowns; he has regressed a bit this season. In 13 games this season, he has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns, which is not a good sign. His QB Rating has also gone down from 92.5 to 85.7.

Although a QB regressing in his second year is never a good sign, Jones is still young and has a lot of time to develop as a franchise quarterback of the New England Patriots.
