On Monday Night Football, the Kansas City Chiefs led by their star quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered a brutal last-minute loss against the defending NFC Champions, Philadelphia Eagles in their week 11 matchup. Following the game, the Chiefs receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling got trashed by the fans on social media for dropping a crucial touchdown pass.

During the final minutes of the 4th quarter, the Chiefs were trailing by 4 points and Mahomes was looking to orchestrate a game-winning drive. They were facing a 2nd down and 10 from around the midfield. Mahomes, who took the snap from the shotgun position, dropped back a few steps before having a go-ahead touchdown to wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

The Chiefs burned the cornerback on his tail, and he was wide-open during the play. However, he couldn’t complete the catch as the ball hit his hands and popped out. Valdes-Scantling missed the best opportunity the Chiefs had in sealing the game. Check out the footage of the play attached below.

Eventually, an intentional grounding penalty and an incomplete pass later, the Eagles got the ball back in their possession. They took a victory formation and took a knee multiple times to run out the clock.

As a result, the Eagles ended up securing a 21-17 victory in a close game against the Kansas City-based football team. With that impressive victory, the Eagles improved to a league-best 9-1 record and are currently holding the No.1 seed in the NFC playoffs picture. On the other hand, the Chiefs fell to a 7-3 record and have lost the AFC No.1 seed for the moment.
