The Dallas Cowboys defense was up against it on Thursday night when the Seattle Seahawks piled on the pressure. A spirited charge from Dak Prescott in the second half solidified Micah Parsons‘ belief in his quarterback.

This game was a litmus test for the Cowboys, who had yet to beat a .500 team this season. The Seahawks are the first of several teams that Jerry Jones‘ franchise has to go through until the end of the regular season.

Although Dallas boasts a very mean defense that ranks third in yards allowed (287.1), the Seahawks were the ones asking all the questions. They went into the fourth quarter with a one-point lead, but an early D.K. Metcalf touchdown increased the lead to seven. It was the wide receiver’s second TD of the day. Not only that, he had managed to bamboozle the Defensive Player of the Month awardee, DaRon Bland, on a few occasions.

Then there was the lack of protection for Prescott, who had to suffer four sacks and dodge a couple of close shaves using his nimble feet. On one such moment, the two-time Pro Bowler saw the opportunity, faked a toss to Tony Pollard, and ran, aiming for the pylon.

He failed to convert the touchdown because Seahawk’s cornerback Tariq Woolen closed the space. Instead of being disappointed, he was pumped up, and his body language suggested that he wanted to win. Meanwhile, on the Cowboys bench, all-pro linebacker Micah Parsons witnessed his QB putting in the effort and had an epiphany.

Damn, that shi* made me blush a little bit. That's my quarterback right there.' That's always exciting—that energy he brings, that fire. He's at a different pace. This is the type of quarterback that's going to win us the Super Bowl.

Dak Prescott saved the day for the Dallas Cowboys

In all honesty, the game was a neck-and-neck contest between two sides that wanted to win badly. Judging by how the night began, it flew as if the Cowboys had met their match. Where the defense was barely hanging on, the Dallas offense delivered.

They were not only playing for their 9th win of the season but also fighting to keep their home game win streak going as long as possible. Once again, their No. 88 CeeDee Lamb shined, recording his 6th 100 receiving yards haul. He capped off the day with 116 yards from 12 catches and a touchdown (Prescott assist).

Veteran playmaker Brandin Cooks chipped in with a touchdown of his own. DaRon Bland caught his eighth pick of the season. The second-year fullback is on course to equal Night Train Lane‘s record of 14 picks in a single season set way back in 1952.

As for Dak Prescott, he completed 29/41 for 299 yards (his 7th 250+ passing yards haul) and 3 touchdowns. He also gained 23 yards from seven carries with the ball.
