“His value is extremely depressed, but…”: Mina Kimes reckons Baker Mayfield has a HUGE chance to redeem himself by joining the Browns again
Baker Mayfield and Mina Kimes
The Cleveland Browns were looking to make some drastic changes this season and they did end up taking a few major steps but nothing seems to be working out for them at this point. One one hand, they have Baker Mayfield, who is looking to get up out of there at the first chance that he gets and then there is Deshaun Watson who is still entangled in several legal troubles.
Baker has made it absolutely clear that he is in no mood to stay with the Browns. The team was exploring trade options for him as well but his hefty salary cap that whichever team took him would have to bear has led to, well, no offers really. The Panthers seem to be the only party showing some interest in him.

“If Watson is suspended, it makes sense for Baker Mayfield to go back to the Browns”: Mina Kimes
Despite of all that has happened in the Mayfield-Browns saga, many are still of the opinion that he should consider joining the Cleveland-based franchise once again. Commenting on the same during NFL on ESPN, renowned NFL analyst Mina Kimes had a few things to say.
“If you take the emotion out of the equation and consider this from a football perspective and ask, okay if Baker Mayfield’s goal is to once again be an NFL starter, what is the best path for doing that? If Watson is indeed suspended for a long time, it makes sense for him to consider going back to Cleveland,” Mina claimed.
She went on to add that Baker’s value at this point of time is “extremely depressed” after he played injured last time around. “If he would have joined a Cleveland team with a soft early schedule and excellent offensive line and run game as well all know and Amari Cooper, I think he would have a pretty good shot at not only rebuilding his value but probably winning some fans around the league,” Mina stated.
However, she went on to add that this scenario is unlikely to unfold considering how Baker’s tone has been recently regarding the Browns but it does seem worthy of consideration.
