Jaguars need to address a couple of issues after they were lowly ranked 28th in the NFLPA players' survey.

NFLPA’s players’ survey reveals devastating rat infestation for Jacksonville Jaguars during 2022/23 season

The Jacksonville Jaguars made a dramatic turnaround in their fortunes from the 2021/22 season to the past season as they finished top of the AFC South division. The Jaguars had one of their best seasons in recent years, as they made it into the playoffs.

In the divisional round, they fell short against the Kansas City Chiefs by a 27-20 margin, and yet their season can be considered a grand success. This is due to the fact that they were the worst team in the NFL in 2021/22 marred with the whole Urban Meyer controversy. Hence, their journey to winning the AFC South division this time around is incredibly commendable.

However, there are still concerns that the franchise needs to address going into the offseason after they ranked a low 28th in the NFLPA players’ survey involving the 32 NFL franchises.

The NFLPA survey also revealed that the Jacksonville Jaguars lack in the handling players’ families

The key takeaway from the survey’s ranking was, however, the fact that the franchise had a rat infestation inside the players’ locker room and laundry hampers, that too for a whopping 3-4 weeks. While sporting failures are fairly acceptable, the fact that the Jaguars’ hygiene got compromised within the season is an eye opener for every NFL fan.

No wonder the unanimous response from the Jaguars players was to get rid of the rats from the locker rooms, which was closely followed by a second issue, which dealt with the franchise’s handling of the player’s families. The report claimed that there have been numerous instances where players’ wives have had to “nurse their babies on the floor of a public restroom.”

Jaguars president, Mark Lamping, acknowledged the responses received in the NFLPA survey and is confident of solving the problems highlighted in the report.

“If you look at the teams that score the highest, they all had the same thing in common there are new stadiums and new training facilities like I said I wasn’t surprised at all by the score in fact we’ve known about it for quite some time that we have a lot of work to do on this facility in conjunction with the city,” Lamping said.

The issues should be resolved when the new Miller Electric Center becomes operational, which is all set to become the Jaguars’ new sports performance center.
