The Cleveland Browns, led by their star quarterback Deshaun Watson, went against their AFC North division rivals Pittsburgh Steelers during their week 2 matchup on Monday night. During the game, Browns running back Nick Chubb unfortunately suffered a brutal injury that left the fans sick on social media.
During the second quarter of the game, the Browns, who were trailing by 4 points, were facing a 1st and goal from the Steelers’ 8-yard line. Watson, who received the snap from the shotgun position, handed the ball off to Chubb. The Browns’ RB tried to hit the middle but was hit low by the Steelers’ defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick.
After the tackle, Chubb tried to stand up with the help of his teammate, but he couldn’t. He removed his helmet, dropped to the ground, and showed the first signs of the injury. ESPN did not show a replay of the injury during the live broadcast in the United States.
However, a brief video shared on social media showed Chubb’s leg bent in an unusual way during the questionable low tackle by the Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.
Chubb was carted off the field and was ruled out for the remainder of the game due to the nasty injury. It should be noted that Chubb suffered the injury on the same knee he already once got injured during his college football days. He is suspected to have dislocated his knee, which would end the season of the star running back.
Chubb also dislocated his knee 8 years ago when he tore his MCL, PCL, and LCL with cartilage damage. It is believed that he has injured the same knee against the Steelers. After the game, Browns HC Kevin Stefanski confirmed that Chubb is out for the season with a knee injury.
Amidst this, football players and athletes from different sports showed support for the star running back and prayed for his full recovery soon. NFL quarterbacks Kyler Murray, Lamar Jackson, Trevor Lawrence, and the NBA icon LeBron James all showed support for the Browns RB on social media.

Before the injury, Chubb had 10 carries for 64 yards while averaging 6.4 yards per attempt. He is the star of the Browns and as he is out for the rest of the season, it would be a massive blow to the Cleveland-based football team.
