Ever since Elon Musk brought Twitter, the billionaire has been making a lot of changes to social media in hopes of trying to make it better. His changes haven’t been received positively by Twitter users. In that trend, his latest decision to rebrand the bird app to ‘X’ is also receiving negative reactions from many, including the former Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee.
The former Colts punter shared an emotional tweet on his profile, saying goodbye to the bird app. “Hey… “Twitter” Thank you for everything. I owe this bird app an immense amount of thanks.. Twitter changed my life. I’m grateful it existed,” wrote McAfee.
Musk, who brought the social media for approximately $44 billion last year, recently announced that he will be rebranding Twitter to ‘X’ soon as part of his big plan to change the site into a super-app similar to China’s WeChat. The “super-app” will provide various services and functions within a single platform.
Like Pat McAfee, many people are upset about Elon Musk essentially changing the identity of a site that they’ve used and loved for many years. McAfee grew his podcast ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ on Twitter with short clips. He hasn’t been a critique of Musk’s actions in recent days. In fact, McAfee took the side of Tesla Motor’s CEO when Mark Zuckerberg launched ‘Threads’ as a competitor for Twitter.
Furthermore, McAfee also subscribed to Twitter Blue and paid money for a checkmark despite a lot of negative reactions. But this Twitter rebrand has seemingly rubbed him the wrong way.

The Pat McAfee show is moving to ESPN
The former Colts punter Pat McAfee is the host of one of the most entertaining sports talk shows in the country, The Pat McAfee Show. Recently, McAfee decided to move his show from FanDuel to ESPN.
The 2-time Pro Bowl punter recently inked a multi-year deal reportedly worth $85 million to broadcast his shows on ESPN network. His show will move to the leading sports network in the fall of 2023 just in time for the NFL regular season.
His show will now be telecasted on ESPN, ESPN+, and ESPN’s YouTube channel. McAfee will get to keep his show as it is and the show will still feature McAfee’s friends as guests.
The former Green Bay Packers linebacker AJ Hawk also will keep his position as the co-host. This is a massive move for McAfee and his show, but fans of the show are worried that ESPN might ruin the authenticity of the show with their censorship.
