Pat McAfee possess multiple questions on NFL expanding

The College GameDay analyst, Patrick McAfee, has always had some interesting anecdotes and viewpoints to add to the sporting world discussions. This time too he has some interesting thoughts and questions on the talk of the town currently, i.e. NFL’s plan to expand to Europe.

The ESPN analyst was on his YouTube channel where he was in conversation with his guest, AJ Hawk, a former American Football linebacker. The conversation started with a very fun and high energy regarding the NFL and the games about the Green Bay packers. After which Pat slowly moved on to the topic of the NFL expansion and expressed his doubts whether it will be a success or not.

It’s not a secret anymore that the NFL really wants to expand its footprint in the entire globe and another reason for this change could be that the NFL has not been expanded till 2002. If this expansion really happens, then for sure new talents and young deserving players will get recognition, which will be beneficial for both the player and the team he is playing for.

Pat McAfee and AJ Hawk pose multiple questions on NFL’s expansion in Europe

Pat McAfee, who had earlier said that NFL Players rather hate the International NFL Games, is back on expanding on the same issue, amidst the sold out London games.

Pat also expressed his concerns about players managing in a different structure and who will take care of their food travelling and all other expenses. He also hopes that the player’s game will not be affected by these continuous moments and the additional chaos.

Also another thing, which McAfee also touched upon, was a probable decline in quality of the NFL games and its legacy with the addition of the European division.

While what McAfee expressed surely needs to be given a proper thought on, there’s little doubt now that the NFL is aiming to establish a London Franchise around 2025, and has active support from the British Government.

Roger Goodell, the current commissioner of the NFL, definitely aims high for the league and wants to see the league reach out to international standards, also hinting at the possibility of a 4 team division in Europe Commissioner Roger Goodell made the statement himself, a few days ago in London.

Goodell had attested, “There’s no question that London could support not just one franchise, I think two franchises,”

Of Course, the expansion will bring in more entertainment for fans and teams, and it will be good, if not great, to watch new content and new drafts and new energy by both teams and management and especially the fans.

But now imagine being on one of those international teams and having to travel across the Atlantic Ocean over a couple of times in a few months. Or playing games that feel like they start at 1:30 AM because you’re on the German team and playing a 4:30 PM game in California. The NFL management surely has a herculean task ahead for them.
