Patrick Mahomes is currently the best NFL player, and the two-time Super Bowl winner is just getting started. The Chiefs QB was successful in getting the better of the Eagles during the Super Bowl.
The Chiefs have a great coaching team that relies on making elaborate plays to fool the opposition. However, one needs creativity to make different plays that the opposition can’t figure out. Creativity can stem from anything, even from the anime Pokemon and the quest to ‘catch em all’.
Mahomes was recently featured on the Jimmy Kimmel show to talk about his Super Bowl victory. Jimmy then asked Mahomes about a certain play that took place in the game and the 27-year-old had an interesting answer.
The distinctive play had a different formation as Mahomes dubbed it the Pikachu formation so that they can catch them all. However, it didn’t come to fruition, and the play bombed massively.
“So, Wiley, who is the guy we were trying to get the ball to is a big Pokemon collector and so it was a Pikachu formation and it was called gotta catch them all night,” Mahomes said on the Jimmy Kimmel show.
However, the outcome of that play didn’t matter to the Chiefs as they won the tightly contested game with a three-point lead and eventually won the Super Bowl.

Patrick Mahomes cements himself as one of the greats with a second Super Bowl win
The Chiefs have won their third Super Bowl ever and second with Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs QB looks promising and is already an all-time great in the NFL. The 27-year-old currently has 2 Super Bowls, 2 NFL MVPs, and 2 Super Bowl MVPs.
These are unreal stats for a 27-year-old and he is already being compared to the legendary Tom Brady and Joe Montana. While there are also many who claim that he will surpass Brady but that seems like a long shot.
Patrick Mahomes delivered an MVP-level performance in the Super Bowl as he threw for 182 yards and three touchdowns. However, there are many who claim that the Eagles QB Jalen Hurts put on a better performance.
Mahomes has a bright future ahead of him and big shoes to fill if he looks to surpass the greatness of Brady and Montana. The Chiefs will also look to compete for the Super Bowl next season as they have the ideal squad for that.
