Daniel Jones has had a great turnaround last season when he led the Giants to the first playoffs of his career. The Giants QB had a rather late awakening in the NFL. However, now the 25-year-old is aware of his potential and wants that big-money contract.

The NFL QB market has burst open after Deshaun Watson and Kyler Murray got handed big bucks. Now, many QBs like Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts, and now Daniel Jones all require similar amounts of money for their talents.

According to Jeremy Fowler from ESPN, Jones requires around $45 million per year for his new contract. This is a massive contract that will see him make money similar to that of Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, who just won the second Super Bowl of his career while winning the NFL MVP award and the Super Bowl MVP award.

Jones was nowhere to be seen in his first three seasons as the starter for the Giants. However, in his 4th and most crucial season, the Giants QB put himself together and delivered the best performance of his career. Nonetheless, many analysts disagree with his $45 million per year valuation and believe that it’s too much for the young QB.

Many starting NFL QBs are up for a contract extension. Two prominent names are Bengals QB Joe Burrow and Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, who performed exceptionally well and deserve all the money they get paid.

Daniel Jones believes that he won’t even be in the top 10 quarterbacks in the NFL with the deal he’s currently being offered and the 25-year-old QB has made some changes to not guarantee that.

Jones has parted ways with his former agent and has signed a new agent that will help him get the money that he himself deserves. The Giants QB is now represented by Brian Murphy, Andrew Kessler, and Camron Hahn of the Athletes First.

If Daniel Jones gets franchise tagged this season, he will have to accept the gracious $32.45 million per year contract. However, it is speculated that the QB will move for a much more aggressive approach and sign a deal with a much-improved figures.
