Steelers tribute to Franco Harris
Pittsburgh Steelers players paid their tributes to the legendary running back Franco Harris before their game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday. Players were seen entering the stadium wearing No.32 jerseys.
Franco Harris died earlier this week at the age of 72. Friends and fans of the beloved Steelers legend have been pouring tributes all week long. US President Joe Biden and former President Barack Obama also paid homage to the Steelers Icon. The Pittsburgh-based franchise retired Harris’ No.32 jersey during the ceremony at the halftime of their game against the Raiders.
The Pittsburgh Steelers players including TJ Watt, Cameron Heyward, Kenny Pickett, and their head coach Mike Tomlin were all seen wearing No.32 jerseys as a tribute to Harris. The end zones were also painted to replicate the 1972 AFC divisional playoff game which gave us “The Immaculate reception.” Steelers defensive end Cameron Heyward ran into the field waving a huge flag with Harris’ number on it.
At half time, Harris’ wife Dana Dokmanovich and their son joined the Steelers President Art Rooney for a tribute. Rooney then presented a Franco Harris jersey to Dana. After the game, the Pittsburgh quarterback talked about Franco Harris in the post-game interview. “I felt like he was with us tonight,” said Pickett.
The Steelers paid their ultimate tribute by beating the Las Vegas Raiders 13-10. Rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett and Co. scored 10 unanswered points in the second half to complete their comeback victory.

Fans react to Pittsburgh Steelers’ tribute to Franco Harris
The Pittsburgh Steelers fans had an emotional week after hearing the news about their legendary running back Franco Harris’ death. The Hall Of Fame running back played 13 seasons in the National Football League. in 12 of which, he represented the Steelers. He has rushed for 12,120 yards and 91 touchdowns in his NFL career.
Harris had a stellar career, he has been to 9 Pro Bowls and he has also won 4 Super Bowls championships with the Steelers. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame in 1990. The Steelers nation was touched by the tributes to their beloved running back.
The Pittsburgh Steelers secured a hard-fought win over the Las Vegas Raiders, thanks to the last-minute touchdown pass by their rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett. With this victory, the Steelers keep their slim playoff chances alive.
