Ex-NFL wide receiver Charles Johnson passed away due to unforeseen circumstances. He was reported missing by his wife Tanisha Johnson a day before he was found dead in a hotel room in North Carolina.
Charles had an entertaining career in the NFL where he played for quite a several teams. The wide receiver won the super bowl with the patriots in 2001. He was drafted by the Steelers in the year 1994 where he was the 17th overall pick. The 50-year-old went on to have a 9-year-long stint in the NFL where he played for the Steelers, Eagles, Patriots and Bills.
Johnson’s death was reported last week but the cause of death is still unknown and not shared with the public. The police investigation is ongoing but there are no signs of foul play, as stated by the police.
The Pittsburgh Steelers, where Charles started his journey went on to tweet on Wednesday:” We mourn the loss of former Steelers wide receiver Charles Johnson.”

The 50-year-old was working as the assistant athletic director at Heritage High School in Wake Forest, N.C. He was also part of the huskies program with athletic director Pat Kennedy.
During his nine-year stint in the NFL, Johnson caught for 4606 yards and scored 24 touchdowns. He then moved on to the Patriots before finally retiring after a season with the Bills. Some fans were particularly devastated by the passing away of the Super Bowl winner.
Charles is succeeded by his wife Tanisha, his son Charles III and daughter Cydney. May he rest in peace.
