The San Francisco 49ers on Sunday thrashed the Arizona Cardinals by a margin of 35-15. A brilliant offensive display led by the team’s running back, Christian McCaffrey, secured the victory for the team. His pivotal attacking gameplay has brought the former Stanford star to the MVP discussions. Analyst Richard Sherman believes that if he continues with this attacking display, he can win the MVP (most-valuable-player) Award as a non-quarterback. If it becomes true, then he will be the first non-QB to win the MVP Award in the past ten years.

I want to see him because Christian McCaffrey is so valuable for the San Francisco 49ers. Just listen to Kyle Shanahan talk about him. He does not want to talk about life without him. Because it’s been so much better. He has done it on the ground, he has done it through the air, he has done it on the long run, short run. He is been physical, he has taken the carries,” the former player turned analyst said on ‘Undisputed’.

Later, he emphasized the fact that only four non-quarterbacks have won the MVP award since the last decade and this season, 49ers star RB has every opportunity to win it.

Against the Cards he rushed for 106 yards, had three touchdowns, and added seven catches. In four games, the RB has covered 459 yards on 5.7 yards per carry. He has registered six touchdowns and added 18 catches for 141 yards in receiving with a score. With the help of his brilliant performance, the San Francisco 49ers have won all of their four games.

The 49ers are playing like a perfect contender for the Super Bowl

The San Francisco 49ers are looking very comfortable this season. They are unbeaten in the league so far, winning all four games. Apart from them, only the Philadelphia Eagles have achieved this record. These two played against each other in the NFC Championship game last year.

Apart from McCaffrey, their miracle QB Brock Purdy has also shined in four games. He covered more than 1,000 passing yards and registered five touchdowns. The QB completed 81 of his 112 passes with a passing completion rate of over 70%. Purdy has registered five touchdowns and has not been intercepted a single time in this season. Along with McCaffrey, he is also a favorite to win the MVP this season.
