Looks like the 35-41 wasn’t the only thing that pissed off Seattle Seahawks fans on Thursday night, as they had expressed their frustration over the social media for the flags thrown by the officials. Interestingly, they weren’t the only ones who called out the officials on this.

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll wasn’t even a little bit happy with the way the week 13 game panned out, especially from the NFL officials’ standpoint. During the post-game press conference, the head coach called out the officials for the amount of penalties they imposed, following the loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

It's unfortunate that it feels like there was a whole 'nother factor in this game-I don't know, you guys saw it a lot better than I did, but there was just way too many penalties in this game, for both sides. We've got to get out of that kind of football.

On Thursday night, the Cowboys and Seahawks combined to serve penalties worth 257 yards on 19 calls, conceded by either side. Apart from this, six more were imposed but later declined. In the final drive of the first half, Seattle saw four flags thrown, though three of them for the Cowboys for being offsides.

However, by the time the fourth quarter began, things got a little settled in, as they also had one penalty. Ironically, though the game witnessed such a high number of penalties, it wasn’t even close to the one with the highest penalties in the NFL.

There was no hiding that the week 13 defeat against the Cowboys came with a hefty cost to the Seahawks as it marked their third consecutive loss. As a result, the Seahawks are now standing at a 6-6 record this season.

Which NFL game holds the record for the most penalties in a single game?

Despite all the frustrations of fans and head coach Carroll towards the penalties, it wasn’t that much, as the NFL has seen previously. The distinction for having the most penalties recorded in a single game goes to the game between the Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers on October 17th, 1967.

As Pro Football Network’s Tony Catalina reported, in the game, both teams served 39 penalties worth a total of 372 yards. Even in this season, this week 13 game wasn’t the most penalized as week 6 has already seen a game between the San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns featuring 25 penalties.

This game gained the distinction for the season-high for penalty yards. Both the teams, the 49ers, and the Browns combined lost 224 yards.
