Zach Wilson was drafted by the New York Jets as their crowned jewel, but so far the 23-year-old QB has been massively disappointed and was even benched in probably his last start for the team.

The Jets suffered their fourth consecutive defeat to the Jaguars and Wilson had a huge part to play in that defeat. The Jets QB was brought back into the squad when Mike White sustained an injury and HC Robert Saleh put his trust in the 23-year-old.

Wilson threw 8 passes out of 19 while throwing for 92 yards with an interception, he had an abysmal QB rating of 41.9. The Jets look out of shape when Wilson plays for them and NFL analyst Shannon Sharpe believes the 23-year-old needs a change in scenery.

Shannon Sharpe went on an insane rant on the Undisputed and stated that Wilson has lost the confidence of his teammates and it will be very difficult for him to get in the back. Instead, the QB should look for a new place, for a new start as Wilson is still just 23 years old and has his whole career in front of him.

“I’ve never seen a guy lost the respect of the locker room and get it back, because the guys know what you are, he needs a change in scenery.” Shannon Sharpe stated on the Undisputed. “He’s clearly lost the confidence of all the guys on the locker room and will be pretty hard to get it back.”

Zach Wilson was drafted with lots of hype and was touted to be the next big QB in the NFL. However, it didn’t turn out that way and the Jets QB has only disappointed so far. HC Robert Saleh had a cryptic response to Wilson’s future in New York.

Saleh believes this isn’t the end of Wilson in New York but also knows that he won’t be continuing this way. It is predicted that the game against the Jaguars was the last one that the 23-year-old will start for the Jets.

The Jets were speculated to make the playoffs this season but after Mike White’s injury their season has gone downhill and they face the possibility of cutting their season short after a terrible run.

Zach Wilson is still part of the Jets roster and will continue to do so. However, if he wants to turn his career around then he will need to get out of New York and go through the rite of passage, according to Shannon Sharpe.
