The Dallas Cowboys lost a close encounter against the Philadelphia Eagles. The game was so close that the Cowboys would regret the chances that they failed to convert. However, the Cowboys did not seem disappointed after the game. Multiple figures from the team said that they would take inspiration from the game and it would help them in the coming encounters. From the QB Dak Prescott to the cornerback Micah Parsons everyone echoed the same words.
However, not everyone thinks that the team needs to feel encouraged, and that too after a loss against the Philadelphia Eagles. Among these believers, Shannon Sharpe expressed his views on the performance of the Cowboys. From his show, ‘First Things First,’ the veteran analyst criticized Dak Prescott for not stepping up at the right moment and the right time.
Shannon Sharpe had the following to say:
Discourage. Because here we are again. We had the opportunity to win the game. These are the moments when we ask Dak to rise to the occasion. In moments like these, against teams like these. Why would you be encouraged? You lost. I can see if you had a game where you won the ball game. Nah, I am really encouraged. Because you know what I have done it in the biggest stage in the biggest moments. But we are yet to see Dak do this on a consistent basis. This is why all the questions keep arising because we asked Dak to be at your absolute best.
Is it really on Dak Prescott?
Frankly, Dak had little to do with the loss. He did everything that he could do but still failed to grab a winner. The player had more than 370 yards of passing with a 65.5% passing completion rate and three touchdowns. However, on multiple occasions, he appeared to be in a position to lead a comeback for his team. One of his touchdown passes was ruled out by the referees.

The Cowboys got a touchdown first but later the review made it clear that it was not a touchdown. One of his two-point play was also ruled out similarly. In the end, CeeDee Lamb was sacked before the touchdown line. Otherwise, the game could have ended in the favor of the Cowboys.
Sharpe analyzed and acknowledged all these. But he still mentioned a point. He said that he expected Dak to finish the game. He acknowledged that Dak had a brilliant night, however, what he lagged was a much-needed finishing touch. And that became vital.
