The long drawn saga has finally reached a sad ending, with Tom Brady ultimately hanging up his boots from the NFL. The NFL’s greatest player will no longer be seen on the gridiron cometh the next season.
Brady has called time on his esteemed career, which included a whopping seven Super Bowl rings, alongside 10 appearances on the biggest stage. The 45-year-old has spent more than half of his lifetime in the NFL circuit, and it feels like the play just lost its best actor.
After an underwhelming season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the writing almost seemed to be on the wall. Brady went through a tough time both personally and professionally as he struggled to put in consistent performances, eventually resulting in an elimination from the Wildcard stage this season.
Brady’s Buccaneers secured the NFC South division, but failed to progress past the Dallas Cowboys. The defeat also dashed hopes of a fairytale ending for the great man. On the personal front, he lost an even bigger battle as he ended up going through a tough divorce with Brazilian model Gisele Bündchen.

This isn’t the first time, Tom Brady announced his retirement from the sport. It was exactly a year ago on February 1st, that he made a similar announcement of deciding to quit the game, in order to spend more time with his then wife Bündchen and kids. However, he rescinded that decision only after 40 days, as he returned to the Buccaneers for his 23rd season.
Leading NFL analyst, Skip Bayless however, feels that this time the quarterback’s career is done for good. A distraught Bayless, felt that Brady will not be making such a return like last season terming it as the “real deal.”
Bayless appeared to have received a bolt from the blue with Brady’s early morning announcement, as he brought the Undisputed podcast to a grim opening. “Good morning to you, and good night to Tom Brady, the football player. Um, what a bombshell that just got dropped,” Skip Bayless said.
“Last year, I didn’t get it and pushed back. But this feels permanent to me,” Skip Bayless said. Truly, this feels like the end of an era. After the kind of season Brady had, it is very hard to imagine him having the urge to come back for another season, with hopes of a fairytale ending to his brilliant career.
