“I STAND by what I tweeted,” Skip Bayless reaches a new low as analyst attempts to defend his DESPICABLE comments surrounding Damar Hamlin

Skip Bayless triggered Shannon Sharpe by rudely interrupting him.

Skip Bayless is treading on thin ice. The famed sports analyst was recently in the limelight over his tweets following the suspension of the Buffalo Bills-Cincinnati Bengals game. When safety Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field and had to be taken to the hospital to be revived as he was unresponsive, fans and players were terrified about his well-being. Skip, on the other hand, had worries about something else.

The analyst was concerned about how the NFL intends to squeeze in the game between the Bills and the Bengals this late into the season. Especially when the outcome of this game has the potential to impact the placings in their divisions and impact the playoff picture. He was criticized heavily by players for his insensitive attitude. Former Cowboy Dez Bryant called for him to be canceled and Stephen Jackson threatened to slap the “sh*t out of him.”

Skip Bayless did issue an apology after stating that he was equally concerned about Damar Hamlin’s well-being and wished nothing but the best for him. However, that appears to have just been meaningless words, as the analyst shocked us with his behavior on Undisputed in the most recent show.

At the beginning of the show, Shannon Sharpe, the co-host of Fox Sports’ Undisputed began to share his support for Damar Hamlin and his family. “There’s been a lot of speculation on why I wasn’t on air yesterday and I won’t get into speculation, conjecture, or innuendo but I will say this….what happened to Damar Hamlin struck me a little different.”

“I’ve never seen anyone have to be revived and fight for their life on the field. Skip tweeted something and although I disagree with the tweet and hopefully Skip would take it down..,” Sharpe was rudely interrupted by Skip who jumped in and began to defend himself by stating, “Time out, time out, I’m not going to take it down because I stand by what I tweeted.”

One could sense the frustration on Shannon’s face as he appeared to be furious with his co-host, interrupting him in between his monologue. The duo was not even debating anything and Skip managed to interrupt him. Shannon did not hold back and stated, “I cannot even get through a monologue without you interrupting me. I was just going to say, we should be talking about Damar Hamlin and not get into your tweet…but you can’t even let me finish my opening monologue without you interrupting.”

Skip defended his tweets on Damar Hamlin by stating, “I was under the impression you weren’t going to bring this up because nobody here had a problem with that tweet.” To which Shannon responded, “Clearly, the bosses wanted you to offer an explanation so clearly someone did.”

Skip continued to iterate that nobody within the Fox Sports organization took issue with his tweets. Skip continues to be adamant and sticks by his claims, at this point, Shannon does not bother responding back but the tension between the two is clearly felt by viewers. While the analyst does have the liberty to share his thoughts and opinions, at times, he does come off too strong while defending his own takes, which at times is ridiculous. However, this situation is unique. This time it is about a man’s life here. Damar Hamlin’s injury made fans forget about the game and the primary focus was on him and his well-being.
