The Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers drama is heating up in the past few days, as speculations rose to new heights, about the reigning MVP’s future in the NFL after his abysmal outing against the Detroit Lions in a must-win game. The veteran QB didn’t do enough to win the game for his team and as a result, the Packers will not be heading to the postseason this year.
After the game, the 39-year-old QB took an emotional walk in the tunnel with his long-time friend Randall Cobb which aggravated the retirement rumors. Furthermore, Rodgers took to the podium to talk about his future with the Packers, where he said that the emotions are still raw and he needs some time to think about his future with the organization that drafted him.
“It’s a little raw right now,” Rodgers said in the press conference. “It’s just a little bit after the game, so (I) want to take the emotion out of it and have conversations and see where the organization’s at and see how I feel after some time has passed.”
Amidst all this, Fox Sports analyst Skip Bayless has blasted Aaron Rodgers for repeatedly failing in big games by saying that he feels for the Packer nation because it’s only going to get worse from here.

Speaking on his show UNDISPUTED with Shannon Sharpe, Bayless said that the joke is on the packers and he feels for the Packer nation. “In the end, the joke is on the Packers. I feel for Packer Nation because you’re going nowhere slowly with this guy, it’s only going to get worse,” said Bayless about the Rodgers situation at Green Bay.
In wake of his average outing against the Lions in a must-win game, Bayless bashed Rodgers for his repeated failures in big games. “It’s just right on schedule, it’s so predictable you got a home game for all the marbles and you can’t trust him (Rodgers),” said Bayless. “Since that, long ago far away Super Bowl run, three wins on the road going to Jerry World to beat Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl, Aaron Rodgers is 7-and-9 in the postseason, he just can’t be trusted.”
Bayless went on to imply that the Packers are done with him but can’t get rid of him. “I believe there are many in that front office who are down with him but the joke… you can’t undo… you already gave him the money. You already mortgaged your future to him,” said Bayless on his show UNDISPUTED.
It’s highly unlikely that Rodgers will retire after this season and he holds a lot of power in his contract with the Packers. So it will not surprise anyone if he suits up in the Packers jersey again in the next NFL season.
