The 2023 Pro Bowl will be played on February 5 in Paradise, Nevada at Allegiant Stadium. The event will have skills competitions which usually take place and there will be non-contact flag football games rather than the usual tackle football.

With the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs confirming their seats in the Super Bowl, the NFL has announced changes to accommodate the players of these teams who will not be playing in Las Vegas.

Among the changes made in AFC, Baltimore Ravens’ Tyler Huntley has been named quarterback alongside Trevor Lawrence and Derek Carr. The original choices were Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Joe Burrow, but the former is heading to the Super Bowl, Allen is injured and Burrow simply backed out from playing.

Huntley was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Ravens in 2020. He never made a full start until 2022 and usually replaced quarterbacks when they were injured or just for a few plays. This season Huntley started after Lamar Jackson suffered a season-ending injury and went 2-2 in the regular and lost to the Cincinnati Bengals in the wild-card game.

Huntley’s selection to the Pro Bowl raised a lot of eyebrows because many did not think he was worthy of the Pro Bowl selection given his below-average production this season. The 24-year-old had a completion percentage of 67.0 and threw for 658 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions. Fans were really not happy with the league’s decision of naming him as the AFC signal-caller.

The Ravens are yet to sign a contract with Lamar Jackson and it looks more and more like they will part ways with the 2019 NFL MVP. So maybe, just maybe Tyler Huntley might start next season if Baltimore isn’t able to draft a new QB or sign one in the offseason.
