Every year in early January, NFL will release the controversial list known as the NFL All-Pro honors. Since there are only 11 spots available for this coveted honor, some players will miss out unfairly on this every year and their fans will let the league know about it. In that trend, fans are once again furious about the All-Pro defense team revealed by the NFL.

The Team includes DE Nick Bosa, OLB Micah Parsons, DT Chris Jones, DT Quinnen Williams, LB Fred Warner, LB Roquan Smith, LB Matt Milano, CB Sauce Gardner, CB Patrick Surtain II, S Minkah Fitzpatrick, and S Talanoa Hufanga. While all these player may deserve their spot, many people believe that there are some other people who deserve it more.

First of all, there are some people who missed out on this purely because of the competition in their spot like Seahawks rookie CB Tariq Woolen who is very good but he’s competing with Patrick Surtain II and Sauce Gardner for the spot and they’re just better. For perspective, Jets CB Gardner is the first cornerback to be named to the All-Pro team as a rookie in 41 years.

The San Francisco 49ers defensive unit was well represented in this year’s All-Pro team as three players from three different levels got selected for it. Also, as a testament to the New York Jets’ legit defense, 2 players represented them in this year’s All-Pro team.

Fans on social media didn’t like the obvious snubs in the All-Pro team as Micah Parsons was selected ahead of players like Matt Judon, Maxx Crosby, Myles Garrett, and Haason Reddick which aggravated the fans.

For comparison, Parsons had 13.5 sacks and 13 TFL all season. When you compare it to other players, Garrett had 16 sacks and 18 TFL, Reddick had 16 and 11 TFL and Judon had 15.5 sacks and 14 TFL. Fans believe despite lesser numbers Parsons was selected because of his popularity.

Also, people believe that players like LB Dre Greenlaw, safety Budda Baker and Derwin James should’ve gotten a nod this year. And some under-the-radar players like LB Lavonte David and CB Darius Slay also went unrecognized for their talent.

The NFL All-Pro team honor is a big deal in a player’s career. Since things like All-Pro and Pro Bowl nods play a huge part in deciding the player’s Hall of Fame acceptance. So when a player gets unfairly snubbed because he’s not as popular as the other player, it doesn’t sit well with the fans.
