Damar Hamlin suffered a brutal cardiac arrest mid-game during the NFL week 17 matchup between the Bills-Bengals. The Bills’ safety collided with Bengals receiver Tee Higgins, resulting in him getting collapsed on the ground.
The 24-year-old safety wasn’t responding as medical personnel quickly rushed to his position and administered CPR to save his life. Soon, an ambulance was called that took Hamlin straight to the nearest hospital for further treatment.
Currently, the Bills safety is under critical condition and intubated as his teammates and fans wait for an update from the hospital where he is being treated at. Hamlin is one of the most humble NFL athletes who didn’t had an easy childhood.
Hamlin’s parents, Nina and Mario, were just 16 years old when he was born and had to go through various adversities in life to give the boy the life he desired. i.e. to play in the NFL.
The Bills safety has always been grateful for the love his parents have given him and that was pretty evident when Hamlin was seen embracing his family before the Bills game in a video that’s been going viral after Hamlin suffered the tragic injury.
The 24-year-old is absolutely grateful for the hardships his parents went through to give him this life and always remembers it. “It was us at first, just me and my mom and my dad, and they taught me hard work. They taught me you gotta work for everything you and basically they just taught me all of the lessons of life,” Hamlin stated in an interview.

Parents are one of the most significant blessings of life and Damar Hamlin understands that. The Bills’ safety makes his parents a priority as they are present in almost every game that the Bills’ safety plays.
Hamlin’s mother, Nina, was also present when the 24-year-old suffered the horrible injury and was soon called upon to be at the player’s side as he goes through further treatment.

Damar Hamlin is currently fighting for his dear life at the University of Cincinnati Medical center as his teammates and fans line up outside the hospital to show strength and support for the mesmerizing safety. The NFL world is really at a standstill and it will only be moved when Hamlin gets better.
