“He needs help” – Social media pities Chandler Jones following the Raiders’ decision to release him just days after his arrest and bizarre mental torture videos

The Las Vegas Raiders have finally come to a decision. The decision to release their star defensive end Chandler Jones. The former Arizona Cardinal hasn’t played for the Raiders since Labor Day and has been reportedly dealing with mental health issues. He recently posted on social media that he was forcefully sent to a mental health institute “against my will.”
Jones was charged with violation of the domestic violence protection order late on Thursday as he was arrested late on that day. The Raiders released him soon after. He is scheduled for an arraignment in December. The team released a statement saying, “Hopeful that Chandler Jones receives the care that he needs. He, his family, and all those involved are in our thoughts.”
The team had placed Jones on the Non-Football Illness list on September 20. He claimed that he was forcefully hospitalized by the Las Vegas Fire Department and was later transferred to a behavioral facility. He also posted a 25-minute long video on his social media on the day of his arrest.
Jones was drafted by the New England Patriots in the 2012 NFL Draft. He won a Super Bowl with the Pats and was later traded to the Arizona Cardinals. During his time in Arizona, he established himself as one of the best defensemen in the world. He joined the Raiders at the beginning of last season.
