NFL off-season is heating and teams are adding talents to their roster in hopes of competing for the Super Bowl next season. In that, the Pittsburgh Steelers have added a new offensive weapon to their squad as they signed wide receiver Calvin Broadus Jr. also known as Snoop Dogg or at least they pretended to sign him as an April Fools joke on Saturday.

“We have agreed to terms with WR Calvin Broadus Jr.” posted Steelers’ official account on Twitter with a link to further details. “Watching the Steelers and the Raiders and the Cowboys and the teams from the 70s, I fell in love with they great defense, the way they moved the ball, just the way they played football,” Snoop Dogg said about how he became a fan of the Steelers. “It was fun to watch as a kid and as I got older, I fell more in love with them because I got a chance to meet the players, I got to meet coach [Bill] Cowher and Ben Roethlisberger, you know, Jerome Bettis and the rest of the guys and you know, I became a part of Steeler Nation.”

The Steelers’ hilarious April Fools prank involving rapper Snoop Dogg created quite a buzz on social media. The fans were first confused and had a laugh when they found out they have been punked by their favorite franchise.

The Steelers have made a lot of moves in the off-season. They recently agreed to terms with the former Buccaneers safety Keanu Neal and they also signed former Vikings cornerback Patrick Peterson on a 2-year deal. They have addressed most of their needs in the free agency now they just have to add couple more pieces via the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft.

Last season, the Pittsburgh-based franchise went 9-8. Their rookie QB Kenny Pickett showed some promising flashes in the 2022 season. If the Steelers could put a decent offensive line in front of him, Pickett might end up having a breakout season next year.
