“Let’s get it together!” Stephen A. Smith calls for a change of name for Tom Brady’s podcast due to his abysmal season despite calling him the ‘GREATEST’
Stephen A. Smith and Tom Brady
Top analyst Stephen A. Smith recently spoke about Tom Brady’s greatness but also put light on the fact that he is having an awful season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brady hasn’t been anywhere near his best this season and has been sloppy in almost all of Bucs’ game this season. The Bucs are now 6-8 for the season and this is the first time in his illustrious career that Brady has lost 8 games in a regular season.
Speaking on First Take, Stephen A. Smith was analyzing the Packers and QB Aaron Rodgers‘ performance when Brady’s topic came up. He believed that the Packers didn’t deserve to compete in the playoffs. He cited that the Packers have defeated the likes of the Bears twice, the Patriots, the Cowboys, the Bucs, and the Rams. He focused on the fact that the Packers have only defeated two playoff-bound teams- the Cowboys and the Bucs.
Adding further, he said that the Bucs, who may realistically reach the playoffs, don’t look like a top team and will only qualify because of the lopsidedness of their division.
“On far too many occasions, they’ve come up short. And then we look at their schedule. Their victories this season have been against the Chicago Bears, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the New England Patriots, the Dallas Cowboys obviously, the Chicago Bears again, and the Los Angeles Rams last night. They’ve only beaten two playoff teams and one – the Bucs don’t look like a good team,” Smith said.
Stephen A. Smith calls Tom Brady ‘the greatest’ but tries to be in reality
Smith added that the NFC South is the worst division in football this year and the Bucs, despite being 6-8 for the season, are at the top of it. He reinstated he loves Brady, and that he is the greatest quarterback in NFL history. He also said that not only just he loves him, respects him, and revere him.
“The NFC South is the worst division in football this year. We love Tom Brady, he’s the greatest ever. The greatest resume for the quarterback position. We not only just love him, and respect him, we revere him,” he said.
Despite all the admiration he has for Brady, Smith said that it is important that we live in reality and accept that the Bucs have been pretty bad this season. He went on to say that Tom Brady should rename his podcast from “Let’s Go!” to “Let’s get it together”.
“But the reality of the situation is the way he has looked and the way the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have looked, despite his greatness and despite him making two unbelievable comebacks this year, the fact of the matter is that his podcast shouldn’t be called Let’s Go, it should be called Let’s get it together,” he said.
The Bucs will face the Cardinals, the Panthers, and the Falcons in the coming matches and Brady will fancy his chances of performing against these teams.
