The 2022 NFL Season is officially underway! The entire offseason wait was worth it as the first NFL game between the Los Angeles Rams and the Buffalo Bills was nothing short of a thriller! Josh Allen and the Bills came out swinging, they played an amazing game and as a result, won it 31-10. It was surprising to see the Rams play such a bad game, maybe the team is still not over its Super Bowl hangover.
Jalen Ramsey had an extremely forgettable night, the star cornerback for the Rams was looking far from a top defensive back as was targeted seven times and he gave up six of those completions for 124 yards and two TDs. The worst moment for him was when he gave up a 53-yard touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs, that’s not something that happens a lot to Ramsey. In light of his terrible performance, Stephen A. Smith had some harsh words for the corner.

Stephen A did not hold back while criticizing Jalen Ramsey and his game, “We got to call out Jalen Ramsey, he got scored on twice, including that long touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs. It’s about your eyes, it’s about what you see, and this is one of the elite(players) in the secondary in the NFL. Jalen Ramsey is that dude, he didn’t look like that dude in the Super Bowl, and he didn’t look like that dude last night. The last two times we have seen him, those eyes that everybody raves about and talks about along with his greatness which is unquestioned has NOT BEEN THERE,” Smith concludes.
Jalen Ramsey has had a rough run in his last two games, he has not been the star corner that receivers are terrified to face off against. His performance in game 1 was shocking as he is a player who has a positive impact on the defense and even if he does not have any interceptions, he makes sure to lock the opponent down.
Jalen Ramsey’s earlier comments from 2018 wherein he criticized Josh Allen made things worse for him last night, he had called Josh Allen a bad quarterback and that the Bills made a bad call by drafting him. Now things are looking quite the opposite, Josh Allen just torched Ramsey and the Rams in the first game of the season. This was a statement by the Bills towards the whole league, if you can beat the reigning Super Bowl champs in your first game, that is pretty impressive.
