The divisional round matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Buffalo Bills on Sunday ended up being an unexpected one-sided beatdown. The fans expected an offensive shootout between two of the best offenses in the league led by elite quarterbacks and top-tier wide offensive weapons. However, the Bills team folded in the heavy snowfall and got dominated by the road underdogs.

Joe Burrow put up a masterful performance as he understood his job and played accordingly. He trusted his running back and the offensive linemen to give the Bengals an edge in the running game and they didn’t fail him. RB Joe Mixon carried the rock 20 times for 105 yards and one touchdown in a heavy Buffalo snowfall and helped his team to pound the ball down the Bills’ defense’s throats.

Moreover, Burrow played a solid game as he threw for 242 yards and 2 touchdowns and ended the game with a 101.9 passer rating. On the other side, the Bills’ offense was lacking in the rushing game and became too “Allen-centric” which helped the Bengals’ defense to contain the one-dimensional Bills’ offense. Josh Allen showed flashes of his brilliance in the important game, but he was unable to do it consistently.

The 5th-year QB Allen was outplayed by the third-year QB Joe Burrow and caught the attention of the media. Following the beatdown, Stephen A. Smith declared that Burrow proved to everyone that he is the better QB of the two.

Speaking on his show First Take with Dan Orlovsky and Michael Irvin on ESPN, Smith said that Joe Burrow has arrived following his impressive performance against the fairly tough Bills’ defense.

“Joe Burrow has arrived, he arrived last year but he’s back now,” said Smith on a recent episode of his show. “The conversation has gone from Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes to Joe Burrow and Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow has put the world on notice and he’s not going away.”

When it comes to the conversation between Burrow and Mahomes, the former has the edge since he is the only QB who has beaten Mahomes in three straight games. Furthermore, Burrow has thrown 8 touchdowns and just one interception in his three games against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Nevertheless, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs will look to break their losing streak against Joe Burrow-led Bengals by securing a win against them in the AFC Conference Championship game this weekend.
