Aaron Rodgers is regarded as one of the most suave QBs of our generation and for all the right reasons. The Packers QB has created an insane legacy in the league and will be remembered forever as a Packers legend.
However, this year wasn’t kind to him as he went through the season of his life where the Packers didn’t even make the playoffs. With the QB being 40 years old, maybe it’s time for a change in scenery and what better than the beautiful city of New York.
Rodgers has been strongly linked with the Jets amidst their QB crisis. The Jets drafted Zach Wilson to change their fortunes, however, the opposite occurred and the team went downhill.
Wilson needs some mentoring and who better than the legendary Rodgers to provide it to him. With Jordan Love trying to secure the Packers’ starting spot, maybe it’s time for Rodgers to move to the Jets.
Stephen A. Smith from ESPN’s First Take thinks it’s a great move and passionately wants Rodgers to consider it and the teams to make it happen as quickly as possible.
Smith likes the thought of Rodgers in a Jets jersey and believes it will be an ideal fit for the veteran QB. The NFL analyst pointed out that the Jets team is centered in a way that will hugely favor Rodgers and the Super Bowl-winning QB will thrive in that team.
Stephen A. Smith believes New York will hold Aaron Rodgers accountable
Aaron Rodgers has been taking his game too casually according to Smith. The ESPN analyst believes that the city of New York will provide accountability for the Packers QB and he will have to up his game to cope with the pressure.
“A New York market that will hold Rodgers accountable far more than Green Bay, that’s a different animal,” Stephen A. Smith stated on the First Take. “When you’re in that kind of spot, when you have the New York contingent breathing down your neck, you don’t get to tell people to relax.”
Rodgers’s move to the Jets is highly expected to happen somewhere during the offseason where the Jets will trade multiple draft picks to get the veteran QB under their contract.
Aaron Rodgers is a legendary QB who has achieved a lot in the game. However, he has played in only one team during his long career and there looms a big question if he will be able to reciprocate the same form in another jersey at the dawn of his career.
