“Teammate, friend and brother” Tom Brady gets emotional about former teammate Rob Gronkowski’s retirement

Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski shared a great bond on and off the field and still do. Rob Gronkowski retired with Tom Brady at the start of this season, though the latter decided to return to the NFL, Gronkowski decided to leave NFL for good.
Tom Brady and were teammates since their New England Patriot days and then later moved to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while Tom Brady is preparing for the new season he will have to get comfortable without Gronkowski only for the second time since 2010.
Recently, the Bucs QB was featured on a podcast with Jerry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray, where they spoke about Gronkowski and the relationship between them. Brady was emotional after his retirement but he had to accept his choice and move on.
“You’re missing someone that was one of the all-time greats, which is, you know, you can’t replace that,” Brady said. “And we all love him, but we miss him and he just decides not to play. So he’s retired, so we’ve had to, you know, move on to try to, you know, solve some things without him.”
Rob Gronkowski is considered an all-time best in his position in the NFL. Gronkowski recorded over 100 interceptions with 13 touchdowns for the Bucs in two years. Tom Brady and Gronkowski also had great communication on the field that helped them break down teams.

Tom Brady acknowledged Gronkowski’s decision to retire for good and also released a statement by calling him his “teammate, friend, brother,”
Tampa Bay are in a transition currently with lots of departures and arrivals, and the only constant in the team is Tom Brady who is dependable. When speaking about how he’ll approach the new season Brady said.
“So that position, although it’s different without Gronk, you know, we’re gonna have to go out there and earn it, and earn the respect of everyone by our work, and by our performance,” Brady said.
“So I’m excited to see what we can do. And, you know, I’m never one to make a bunch of predictions, other than, you know, we’re gonna work hard to get it right. And it’s not gonna be perfect all the time. It’s got to be perfect enough to win.”
The Bucs lost Rob Gronkowski, Antonio Brown and Bruce Arians but the arrival of Julio Jones and Todd Bowles does provide some/ hope for the Bucs fans.
