After retiring from the NFL with a legendary career, Tom Brady is now taking an interest in the ‘other’ football. Recently, the NFL star has begun his journey in soccer, widely known as football, outside the United States.
He was in England to watch the most anticipated soccer game between the top two teams in the country — Erling Haaland‘s Manchester City and Son Heung Min‘s Tottenham Hotspur. These two have one of the most significant games of the English Premier League, today. But the most interesting part is, that Brady already had a prediction of the mega matchup.
Supporting Manchester City, the former NFL quarterback predicted the team with by 4-2. Brady said via the official Instagram page of Manchester City:
What's up, guys? Tom Brady here. I'm here in Manchester for the game today and I'm thinking prediction of the score 4-2 City. A high-scoring game will be a lot of fun. Let's go!
If the Spurs, who are ranked sixth with 26 points in total, win the game, they would have a tie with Manchester City with 29 total points. As both teams need three points with their victory, former New England Patriots QB firmly believes the victory will be of Manchester City, with the strong backing of Haaland’s game play in front of the goal.
Which English soccer team did Tom Brady invest in?
With his new interest in other football, especially English soccer, the NFL legend not only supports his favored team but also invests in it. Brady has recently invested in an English soccer team, named Birmingham City in The English Championship. He has acquired a minority stake in the Birmingham City Football Club, intending to establish a winning culture in the team.
The Championship League is below the Premier League which includes Manchester City and Tottenham. The top three teams of the Championship leagues get an opportunity to be part of the Premier League by replacing its bottom three teams, that get relegated to the former.
As for Birmingham, they are currently ranked 15th in the Championship League. This shows their odds of reaching the Premier League are extremely slim. The former Patriots quarterback is currently on his soccer tour across the United Kingdom. He is attending the high-profile games from the English League, like the huge rivalry game between the City and the Spurs.
