Former Pittsburgh Steelers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Antonio Brown has been out of the league for some time now. He last played an NFL game in 2021 against the New York Jets. Brown has been a controversial figure throughout his career. After a great start to his NFL career with the Steelers, Brown was traded to the Oakland Raiders (now the Las Vegas Raiders) in 2019. He did not play one snap for the Raiders as he was involved in a heated altercation with GM Mike Mayock. He experienced a bit of a renaissance during the 2020 season as he won the Super Bowl that year with the Buccaneers.

However, another incident with the HC Bruce Arians during the Bucs game against the Jets was the final straw in his NFL career and he hasn’t played in the league since then. The Steelers began their 2023 NFL season against the San Francisco 49ers and suffered a terrible defeat. They were blown away by the Niners at home. Brown recently took to Twitter and posted some cryptic messages suggesting a reunion with the Steelers.

Brown put out multiple tweets suggesting a possible reunion with the Steelers. In one tweet, Brown wrote, ‘heard the Steelers need a WR….’ In another he asked fans to hear him out with a picture of him in a Steelers uniform. It is highly unlikely that the Steelers will take a chance on Brown again, but stranger things have happened in football.

In his 11 years in the NFL, Brown was a 5-time All-Pro selection and a 7-time Pro-Bowler. He also won Super Bowl LV and was on pace to become one of the greatest wide receivers in NFL history. His off-field controversies might cause a major dent in his Pro Football Hall of Fame bid.

The Pittsburgh Steelers welcomed the San Francisco 49ers at the Acrisure Stadium for their week 1 game. It was expected to be a closely fought battle between two of the NFL’s best defenses. Instead, the Steelers were blown away by the Niners 7-30.

The Steelers’ offense struggled throughout the game as the much-talked-about duo of Kenny Pickett and George Pickens failed to get anything going. The Niners’ defense had a great outing and the Steelers were thoroughly outplayed in that game.

They will hope to bounce back in their next game against the Cleveland Browns next Monday. The Niners on the other hand will play the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday and will look to build on this impressive start.
