It is not normal that people are waiting for Tom Brady’s retirement announcement, but such has been this season for the legendary quarterback. The 7-time Super Bowl champion is having one of the worst seasons of his career and isn’t looking at all like his usual self. He has looked completely lost at times and has, at times, gone out of character to prove his point in a negative manner, which includes his unnecessary rants toward his teammates.

On Christmas, Brady once again pulled a staggering comeback win against the Cardinals. The game went in OT, where the Bucs won 19-16 because of a game-winning drive led by Brady. He didn’t perform well for the majority of the game, but still managed to deliver when it mattered. On Monday, he gave his two cents about his much-talked retirement in his weekly “Let’s Go!” podcast.

Speaking to Jim Gray, Brady was jokingly asked if he would retire and then unretire again if TE Rob Gronkowski decides to make yet another comeback. The 45-year-old said that the next time he retires, it will be the final one. “Well, I think next time I decide to retire, that’s it for me,” a chuckling Brady said on their “Let’s Go!” podcast. “So whenever that day comes, we’ll figure it out.”

Is retirement on Tom Brady’s mind?

Gray further kept the jokes aside and asked Brady whether retirement is something that he thinks about. Brady was quick to respond that retirement isn’t on his mind and added that he realized over the last few months that he has to be sure before taking the decision. He said that he’ll take the decision whenever that time comes.

“I really don’t,” Brady replied. “I think what I really realized … was you’ve got to be really sure to do that. And for me, you know, a lot of people have kind of gone through this situation … I’m going to take my time whenever that time does come.”

Despite having a bad season, Brady can make amends on the business end. The Bucs have a very good chance to make it to the playoffs this week and if that happens, the legendary QB can use all his years of experience to make the best out of the knockout stage. The Bucs are currently 7-8 for the season and are at the top of the NFC South division.
