Tom Brady pokes fun at himself after the foul controversy
Tom Brady’s relation with media buzz seems to be reaching new heights this season. Whether it be his ongoing marriage problems or his on field play, the veteran has his hands full.
The Sunday matchup between Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers saw the Bucs come out on top. But it was not just the loss that kept the Falcons furious. While their defensive lineman, Grady Jarrett, gave his all, he was also flagged for an unnecessary foul.
The call destroyed any hopes of Falcons’ revival in the match and is drawing flak from fans. The Bucs QB, one of the other parties directly involved in this controversy, was asked to speak on the call. He dusted his hands off, saying that he’ll leave that up to the officials.
“It was a long hug, a long unwelcome hug from Grady.” Tom Brady speaking Grady Jarrett’s mood after the game
Later on, when Brady was again asked by Jim Gray on the “Let’s Go” podcast on the SiriusXM YouTube channel about the mood in the arena, he had this to say:
“It was a long, unwelcome hug from Grady. He was in the backfield all day,” Brady said. “As I said after the game, I don’t throw flags. What I do throw is tablets. I didn’t have one accessible at that time. He had a hell of a game. I’ll leave it at that.”

Well, at least Tom has got some jokes about the situation and knows how to poke fun at himself. This was in reference to the affair between Tom Brady and poor tech equipment when the things are not going his way. You can find below one such incident.
Furthermore, Brady was asked on the show if he agrees with the assessment made by American sports writer Peter King from NBC that the call was a result of heightened awareness of quarterback safety after the Miami Dolphins quarterback concussion incident.
“I think that there’s always at times like this such a heightened awareness of different things that are being called. Everyone saw the Tua situation and I’m sure all the medical departments across the league were called, and there were meetings and so forth,” Brady said.
He also added that, “They’re trying to keep those things from happening again. No one knows the full details of that situation. I know they came out with something last week that they went through and the league made a statement.”
Brady said that the way rules are imposed differs “from team to team” and you wish the calls to not impact the game at all and also the referees feel the same too.
While what he is, stating may be true, one cannot wonder how many times Tom Brady has been able to get the referees on his side. And from the looks of it, fans will keep on discussing this matter.
