“Doubtful”: Tom Brady to miss season opener against the Dallas Cowboys as per HC Todd Bowles

Tom Brady
Tom Brady is back for his 100th NFL season, well 23rd season but it does feel like an eternity. The quarterback retired and unretired, however, we may have to wait a bit longer until we will be able to get to see him back in action on the NFL field. The quarterback missed practice on Thursday owing to personal reasons and he will reportedly be gone for a while.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers HC Todd Bowles told reporters that Tom Brady will not be returning until after August 20th, which will mark the Bucs’ second preseason game against the Tennessee Titans. Brady has just mentioned that he is out for personal reasons. In all likelihood, Gisele could have had something to do with this, maybe she wanted to take a long vacation with the kids before Tommy is gone for the next 6 months.
Tom Brady is taking some time off for “personal reasons”

HC Todd Bowles in his latest press conference stated “Tom has been excused today, he’ll be back sometime around after Tennesse. He’s going to deal with some personal things.” Brady had reportedly intimated the HC a while back, “This is something we talked about before training camp started. We allotted this time because he wanted to get in and get chemistry with the guys and go through two weeks of training camp. Knowing he wasn’t going to play the first two games, he didn’t want to take away reps from Blaine(Gabbert) and Kyle(Trask, as well as Ryan Griffin, as far as going into these next two games,” Todd Bowles went on to add.
While Brady is off, the backup quarterbacks will be able to get some reps in and showcase their talents. The Bucs have had a joint practice along with the Miami Dolphins in the last two days and will go play their preseason opener on Saturday night. Bowles had previously stated that Tom will not be a part of this game.
Bowles did not reveal too much with respect to his quarterback’s absence but the coach did state that if Tom needed some time then the Bucs would oblige under any circumstances. “It’s something he needs to handle, we trust him. We talked about it. It was scheduled way before training camp,” the HC added.
He also brushed aside any concerns with respect to Brady’s status for the team’s season opener against the Dallas Cowboys on the 11th of September. “Obviously, there’s always going to be doubt, but I have a pretty high level of confidence, yes,” Bowles concluded. The Bucs have had far from a smooth training camp.
The team has already been battling with injuries as experienced Center Ryan Jensen has already been declared out for the entire season due to a knee injury. In addition to this, Mike Evans, the team’s top wideout has been dealing with a hamstring injury and Russell Gage had to leave practice due to a leg injury earlier this week. Breshad Perriman has also been injured for the most of training camp.
Hopefully, everything is okay with Tom Brady and his family, we cannot wait to see the quarterback back in action with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers!
