Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is definitely making the most of the offseason after a thrilling Super Bowl-winning season. The 33-year-old made his presence felt off the gridiron as he hosted NBC’s Saturday Night Live event.
In one of the sections, Kelce decided to go on a long monologue, where he spoke about his time with the University of Cincinnati, the place where he gained prominence before his NFL journey. He joined the Bearcats in 2008 but was red-shirted for that season, eventually going on to play for the team in the following season.
The tight end had another year where he did not play for the Bearcats, after he was suspended for a breach of team rules. The violation was later clarified that Kelce was found positive for a marijuana test, and he missed the entire season of football in 2010.
Travis Kelce might have failed school but is a 2-time Super Bowl winner with the Chiefs

Kelce made a cheeky reference to that phase of his career during his monologue on Saturday, suggesting that the suspension during his college days was an omen for his Super Bowl success. He also mentioned the fact that his brother, Jason Kelce, was a better student than him, while growing up.
“Jason and I have actually been playing football together since we were little kids, and he was always better than me at everything. In high school, he was an honor student. And I got kicked off the team because I failed French. And English too. But, French sounds way better.”
“Then when we were in college, I actually got kicked off the team because I tested positive for marijuana. So it just goes to show you if you smoke weed and you’re bad at school, you can win the Super Bowl twice,” Kelce joked as he pumped his fist during his monologue.
Whatever the reason, the Kelce family can be incredibly proud that both Travis and Jason were part of Super Bowl LVII. It was the first time in the entire NFL history that two brothers were on opposite sides of the ultimate prize, with Jason Kelce playing for the Philadelphia Eagles.
