The Georgia Bulldogs have had a problem with their football players being involved in DUIs.

Trevor Etienne, the running back for the Georgia Bulldogs finds himself in hot water after he was arrested on Sunday morning, on the suspicion of driving under the influence. In addition to this, the running back was charged with four misdemeanors.

As reported by UGASports’ Radi Nabulsi reported the news first. He shared the image of the charges Trevor Etienne was booked under. From the image, it is evident that the running back has been charged with reckless driving, affixing materials which reduce the visibility of his windows and/or windshield, failure to maintain his lane/improper driving and driving under the influence. He was booked at 4: 35 AM.

The running back recently transferred to Georgia in the month of December, before he was at Florida where he spent two seasons and recorded 1,472 yards along with 14 touchdowns for the Gators. He also has a brother, Travis Etienne who plays for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Trevor Etienne risks being convicted irrespective of his blood-alcohol levels

The running back’s DUI charge falls in the category of a ‘less safe’ one. It means that he stands to be convicted irrespective of the fact that his blood-alcohol level is higher than the limit prescribed by the State of Georgia which is .08. The university released a statement following his arrest.

The statement read:

We are aware of the charges and are currently in the process of gathering additional information, This is a pending legal matter and we will not have further comment at this time.

Trevor Etienne ran for 753 yards this season and scored eight touchdowns. The Bulldogs cannot afford to lose Etienne, since after the departure of Daijun Edwards and Kendall Milton, the team lacks RBs.

Another growing concern for the Georgia Bulldogs remains the increasing number of football players who have been arrested over traffic-related violations. Offensive lineman Devin Willock and recruiting staffer Chandler LeCroy were killed in a crash on 15th January in Athens, Georgia due to reckless driving. Jalen Carter, currently on the Philadelphia Eagles got into trouble over reckless driving and pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges for reckless driving. He was given 12 months of probation and had to pay a fine of $1,000. Trevor Etienne has now continued this concerning tradition of Bulldogs players indulging in violations.
