The Saturday night game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Miami Dolphins was a one-sided affair. It was a game between two powerful offenses, however, the weather conditions played a huge role during the game. The Dolphins succumbed to it, whereas the Chiefs excelled and won the game 26-7. It was an embarrassing loss for Tua Tagovailoa and company after a very good regular season.
The Dolphins’ Pro Bowl quarterback struggled all night to get the offense going as the Chiefs’ defense held up their own against an explosive offense. Tagovailoa finished the game with 199 yards, one touchdown and an interception.
The Dolphins’ offense went cold on a freezing night in Kansas City. After the game, Chiefs’ QB Patrick Mahomes and Tagovailoa shared a warm hug and had some encouraging words for each other.
Mahomes told Tagovailoa that the Dolphins had a “hell of a season.” However, Tagovailoa’s response generated a lot of buzz on social media. The Dolphins’ quarterback asked for Mahomes’ jersey, however, the Chiefs’ QB had already promised to someone else but told Tua that he would get him a new one.
The Chiefs will now play the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round. These two teams have met each other before at the same stage, back in 2021. That time the game was played in Arrowhead Stadium and was one of the greatest postseason games of all time. However, this year, the game will be played in Buffalo and that might give the Bills a slight advantage in that matchup.
Following the Chiefs’ victory over the Dolphins, fans chastise Tua Tagovailoa for requesting Patrick Mahomes’ jersey.
The Miami Dolphins’ QB Tua Tagovailoa had a poor outing against the Kansas City Chiefs in their Wild Card Round matchup last Saturday. However, his post-game handshake with Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes generated a lot of attention on social media.
Both Mahomes and Tagovailoa shared a respectful hug after the game. The Chiefs QB praised the Dolphins’ signal-caller and told him that they had a “hell of a season.” After that, Tagovailoa asked for Mahomes’ jersey, which the two-time MVP had already promised to someone else.
Fans picked up on that and slammed Tagovailoa for asking for Mahomes’ jersey after a devastating playoff loss. Here are some of the reactions to that incident.
Tagovailoa finished the game with 199 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Mahomes on the other hand had a great game as he threw for 262 yards and a touchdown. The Chiefs will take on the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round next Sunday.
