Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller has had a difficult couple of weeks. An arrest warrant was issued for him last week in Texas. Miller was accused of assaulting his longtime girlfriend, but since then, the woman has come out and denied that any assault took place.
Miller won’t be added to the NFL’s Commissioner-Exempt list unless he is “formally charged” with a crime, according to information received last weekend.
According to Bills GM Brandon Beane, the linebacker is at the facility and is practicing with the squad. Miller is allowed to play by the NFL and is expected to suit up against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
Since the victim has denied the existence of any assault, Miller might be in the clear for the rest of the season as no formal charges are expected on the LB.
There's not a lot that I can say. Von is here to be a part of the team. We'll follow the lead of the NFL from that standpoint.Beane said on Miller’s situation during a recent press conference
Miller has played eight games this season, and he hasn’t recorded a sack yet for the Bills this year. He joined the Bills at the beginning of the 2022 season. He had a good season last year but has regressed significantly this season.
The linebacker is a two-time Super Bowl champion and won a Super Bowl MVP back in 2015. He has been one of the best defensive players of his generation and is an eight-time Pro Bowler.
Brandon Beane opens up about Von Miller’s situation and his status going forward
The Buffalo Bills’ star linebacker, Von Miller, was recently accused of assaulting his longtime girlfriend. A warrant was issued for the arrest of Miller in Texas last week.
However, the woman clarified that no assault took place, and Miller was subsequently released. He was at the facility on Wednesday and is reportedly cleared by the NFL to play for the Bills in their next game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Bills’ GM, Brandon Beane, opened up about the situation.
We weren't there. We're not the investigators. We don't, obviously, you know, we had our conversations with Von and understood what he believes happened and so, from that standpoint we can't get into it. It's an open investigation, and so we'll just, we'll let the legal process play out, and he'll participate like normal in practice.Beane told the reporters
The Bills will visit Arrowhead Stadium to play the Chiefs in their next game on Sunday. They had a bye last week and are 6-6 so far this season. They will hope to win their game against the Chiefs and make a final push for a playoff spot.
