Warren Sapp chimed in on why Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots are struggling. The retired All-Pro defensive tackle, who faced the veteran head coach several times in his career, claimed that he was helped by players who would go down as some of the best in the history of ever to step on a football field.

During the 571 episode of Fearless with Jason Whitlock, Sapp discussed severe topics. However, his most brutal take came when Whitlock questioned the 50-year-old what he thought about the Bill Belichick situation in Boston.

The never-ending debate over whose contribution Tom Brady or Belichick made—New England seeing seven Super Bowl banners at Foxborough—is unlikely to end soon. On the flip side, it has gained more attention due to the Patriots’ lack of wins after the 46-year-old left for Tampa. They are 26–30 days after his exit, including the playoffs.

Belichick’s year with the New England Patriots has gone from bad to worse as the season progressed, with just 2 wins from 10 games that led to the benching of quarterback Mac Jones.

According to several reports, Bill Belichick’s time could be coming to an end with the Patriots. It started that debate about where he would go next, or rather, which franchise would suit his play style the most. Warren Sapp chipped in with his suggestion.

What's the best landing spot if you are Bill Belichick? Is it the Washington Commanders or the Los Angeles Chargers?

Sapp was ready with the answer, but it was neither of the options that were given to him. 

The couch. It’s time to go to the couch; the game is over.

The reason behind his statement is that the Belichick Way is dead, citing that most of his coaching staff personnel had horrible records when they became head coaches themselves.

All of the ‘Patriot Way’ bulls*** is out the window. Ask Bill O’Brien, Romeo Crennell, and Josh McDaniels. Ask any of them. It’s out the window.

Not only that, he reminded the audience that Belichick is closing in on the NFL’s all-time loss record for a head coach. Currently, former Broncos, Falcons, and Giants head coach Dan Reeves has that unwanted history (190-165-2). The loss against the Colts means Belichick has 160 career NFL losses (300 wins).

The Patriots’ next few games are unfavorable, so that can end the season on a high note. The New England Patriots face the Chiefs, the Bills, the Steelers, and the Broncos.
