WATCH: ‘Can’t stop laughing’ – Stephen A. Smith brutally trolls Cowboys legend Michael Irvin after Dallas’ playoff defeat against the 49ers
Stephen A. Smith poked fun at Michael Irvin following his team's elimination from the NFL playoffs against the 49ers.
The NFL 2022/23 season is nearing its business end, and the heartbreaks have already started for numerous fans. Amongst the recent sufferers are the Dallas Cowboys fans, courtesy of their recent loss against the San Francisco 49ers.
The wait for a Super Bowl title goes on for the Cowboys fans, as they last tasted success way back in 1996. The Cowboys fell to a 19-12 defeat against the 49ers, getting knocked out by them for a second consecutive year.
Cowboys’ defeat proved to be a boon for popular TV personality Stephen A. Smith, who took up the opportunity to troll Michael Irvin, who is a Cowboys Hall of Famer. Irvin is a huge Cowboys fan and believed that his former franchise could potentially stake a claim for the Super Bowl this year.
On ESPN’s show, First Take, Irvin had hyped up the Cowboys’ offense, with Dak Prescott at the helm of things. However, things did not fall into place for Prescott and his offensive team in what turned out to be a match dominated by the 49ers’ defense.
Michael Irvin will have a tough time when he faces Stephen A. Smith on the First Take podcast
Stephen A. Smith took to his official Twitter account and posted a video of himself laughing at the Cowboys’ sad predicament. He gave a special mention to Michael Irvin for hyping up Dak Prescott and the offensive team in the build-up to this particular game.
Smith laughed his heart out in the video and urged fans to wait for his appearance on the First Take episode following the playoff games this weekend.
“Didn’t I say? Just be patient. That’s all I’d asked. All I asked for you’ll to be patient. It was coming, it was coming. Hype up a prolific offense, Michael Irvin, the playmaker… Break your records- ‘we averaging more than 35 points a game.’ Well what did you do tonight? Oh my God, I can’t wait for First Take tomorrow. I can’t wait,” said Stephen A. Smith in the video posted on Twitter.
For the Cowboys, it was the same old story in a playoff game, where the team failed to turn up yet again for a second consecutive season. They had a 12-5 record in the regular season as they finished second behind the Eagles in the NFC East division.
