DeAndre Hopkins and the Cardinals are in rough waters currently. The Cardinals WR is likely to be traded this offseason as the new GM and HC want to make some changes to the organization and shift the team to a younger side.
Hopkins has been part of the NFL for around 10 years now and has put up decent numbers throughout his time with the Cardinals. The 30-year-old was drafted by the Texans in 2013 and since then he’s been a five-time Pro Bowler and has also been named to five All-Pro teams.
The Cardinals WR has a great resume and any team can benefit after trading for him. However, it looks like the Cowboys are ahead in this race for the prolific WR.
The Cowboys are seriously understaffed in their offensive prowess. Though they have great defense, their offense has been a bit underwhelming this past season. The Dallas-based team is looking to add reinforcements to help out WR CeeDee Lamb and Hopkins looks like a good option.
Recently, Hopkins was present in Dallas for an Instagram live session with former Cowboys WR Dez Bryant. In the podcast, the Cardinals WR dropped some hints about his potential move to America’s favorite team.
“I keep hearing y’all say my name around here. What’s up? Talk to me,” DeAndre Hopkins stated during the Instagram live session with Dez Bryant.
DeAndre Hopkins can add firepower to the Cowboys’ bleak offense
While the Cowboys boast one of the best defenses in the league, their offense is still pretty underwhelming, and this has been due to a lack of depth. The Cowboys lost to the 49ers last season in the divisional round and will be looking to do better than that next season.
DeAndre Hopkins can turn out to be that match-winning weapon for them. The WR is fast and can make space pretty quickly in clutch positions. His experience will also be beneficial for the Cowboys.
Hopkins just played nine games for the Cardinals last season but produced good numbers throughout that time. The 30-year-old had 64 catches for 717 yards while scoring three touchdowns.
However, DeAndre Hopkins’ availability has piqued the interest of many teams in the NFL who will look to bounce at the opportunity. The Cowboys will have to seal the deal quickly to have a chance at acquiring Hopkins.
