“Will sign with the winner of Rams vs Bills” Odell Beckham Jr. makes a DARING claim amid his transfer saga
Odell Beckham Jr
The fans have renamed the name on Thursday between the Rams and Bills as the Odell-Bowl. Odell Beckham Jr. recently tweeted jokingly that he would sign with the winner of the Bills vs Rams clash but we think there is no joke involved.
Odell Beckham Jr. was part of the Super Bowl-winning squad of the LA Rams but was later let go because of an ACL injury and the Rams decided not to extend his contract until he is fully recovered. The Rams and Bills face each other in the first game of the season with the added caveat that both the teams are dubbed to win the Super Bowl this year.
It’s an interesting matchup already but the tweet by Odell makes it more interesting. The Rams have already signed a replacement for Odell Beckham Jr. in Allen Robinson who was a free agent but they are still eyeing the Super Bowl winner and they have shown their interest by keeping Odell’s locker room intact with his nameplate.
Buffalo Bills have recently shown interest in Odell Beckham Jr. as they signed Von Miller, an ex-Rams linebacker, who they believe will persuade Odell Beckham Jr. to move to Buffalo. Bills GM Brandon Beane also showed interest in the WR.
“He’s recovering like Tre White from an ACL,” Beane said of Beckham. “He’s a talented player. Show me a talented player I’m not checking into. I’m always going to do that and whether that is a trade for someone or letting a guy get healthy. Again, the cap factors into it too.” The only problem that Bills could face will be of the salary cap.
Can the Buffalo Bills or the LA Rams actually afford Odell Beckham Jr.
Odell Beckham Jr. is a talented and fast WR who has also won a Super Bowl, so the former Rams WR will likely command a huge salary. Both the Rams and Bills are in a bleak condition to signing the Super Bowl winner.
The Rams will likely offer him a contract with added incentives to the wins and the runs he makes, whereas the Bills will have to twist and turn their wage budget around to accommodate Odell, this also comes with an added requirement that the WR takes a pay cut.
Odell Beckham Jr. will be available to play in the NFL when he completely recovers from his ACL injury which is most likely in December, till then we can just assume which team can sign him.
