Aaron Rodgers is certainly one of the most controversial NFL players in recent history. The veteran QB is known for his unconventional choices when it comes to making difficult decisions.
However, the most controversial situation he found himself in was during the COVID vaccinations. The former Green Bay Packers quarterback opposed the process of vaccination and didn’t believe in wearing masks.
Rodgers didn’t want to take a vaccine or wear a mask. However, that wasn’t possible, as it was a crime in many countries to not do that. Therefore, the Jets QB gathered over 500 pages of research on the dangers and inefficiencies of taking the vaccine and wearing a mask. He sent those research papers to the NFL; however, nothing was obtained by doing that.
Instead of taking the vaccine, Aaron Rodgers believed in the immunization process of creating antibodies, which was completely different from taking the vaccine. According to Rodgers, some of the mitigation protocols by the NFL were used to shame people, especially the mask-wearing protocol despite taking the vaccine.
Aaron Rodgers has been a strong advocate of the anti-vaccine process and even spoke about it in length during the Joe Rogan podcast. There, he shared his own way of defeating the virus through ‘unconventional’ means.
Aaron Rodgers was slammed on NFL Twitter for his different opinions
The NFL world wasn’t happy with Aaron Rodgers charting his own course in the battle with COVID. While everyone was busy taking vaccines, the New York Jets QB believed in not taking them. This inspired a widespread movement on NFL Twitter, where Rodgers was slammed brutally by the mainstream media as well as the common people.
However, there were some people who came to his defense, but they were massively outnumbered by the hate the QB received for his different opinions and statements. This also led to the Packers scandal, where the organization knew that Rodgers wasn’t vaccinated and tried to hide it from the general public. This led to massive hatred for Rodgers as well as his team at the time.
Sharing a wide spectrum of reactions online, here’s what fans have to say:
The COVID virus has been out of the news for a long time now and people have gotten back to the life it was before. However, Aaron Rodgers still suffers the effects of the vaccine controversy.
