The entire world celebrated Father’s Day recently. The NFL bombarded social media with posts honoring Fathers all around the globe and also mentioned players that have followed in their father’s footsteps and entered the league.

The NFL dedicated a post that included SB MVP Cooper Kupp, Joe Burrow, DK Metcalf, Nick, and Joey Bosa to name a few. It is pretty apparent that not all players could be named in the post. However, Saints running back Mark Ingram II took offense to not being featured in the post and demanded respect for him and his father.

Mark Ingram Sr. and his son Ingram Jr. were both drafted in the first round of their respective draft classes as the 28th pick overall. Senior was active as a wide receiver in the NFL for a decade from 1987 to 1996. He played for the Giants, Dolphins, Packers, and the Eagles. Ingram Sr. won Super Bowl XXV with the New York Giants. Ingram II kept the legacy of his father shining bright as a star by being a top running back in the NFL. Even though it was not possible for the social media team to feature every player and their fathers, the 32-year-old RB was quite hurt by not being granted respect to his Super Bowl winning father.

Ingram returned home to New Orleans after 3 years when he was traded by the Houston Texans in exchange for a 2024 seventh-round pick. He played half of the 2021 season for the Texans and the other half for the Saints. He finished the 2021 season with 554 yards and only 2 touchdowns.
