“Wilson defeats Brady & Burrow”: Russell Wilson takes the top spot on the list of most jerseys sold, Josh Allen comes in second
Russell Wilson
Tom Brady ran unopposed in jersey sales for quite some time now. But it looks like he has been dethroned by another veteran quarterback. NFL Shop announced their best-selling jerseys of 2022 and the list has been topped by Denver Broncos’ new signal-caller, Russell Wilson.
Russell Wilson decided to leave Seattle after the 2021 season and landed in Denver. The Broncos underperformed ever since Peyton Manning retired and the team has signed Wilson in the hope of reviving their Super Bowl run once again.
Russell Wilson tops the list, Kenny Pickett ranked higher than Tom Brady
The rest of the Top 10 also consists of quarterbacks apart from two jerseys. (2) Bills quarterback Josh Allen; (3) Raiders receiver Davante Adams; (4) Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett; (5) Tom Brady; (6) Patriots quarterback Mac Jones; (7) Rams receiver Cooper Kupp; (8) Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert; (9) Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes; and (10) Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.
The biggest shock was seeing Kenny Pickett before Brady on the list as it is highly unlikely that Pickett will be the Week 1 starter in Pittsburgh. Joe Burrow who is the current rising star in the league stood 10th which is also surprising since his appearance in the Super Bowl. Reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers and Cowboy’s Dak Prescott failed to make the cut.
Davante Adams and Cooper Kupp are the only two non-QB making the list. But looks like Tyreek Hill didn’t make the cut despite being the highest-paid WR in NFL history and in his move to the Miami Dolphins. Matt Ryan also jumped ship from the Falcons to the Colts and that didn’t seem to be enough to crack the list. Deshaun Watson also didn’t star on the list given the legal trouble he’s in. The 2019 MVP Lamar Jackson also missed the cut.
